The purpose of this site is to share my knowledge of Bird Care to new bird owners that may have questions, also I hope to spark interest in others to buy a bird. I hope this site will benefit me also as a way to learn from other bird lovers, and as a breeder, its a different aspect of doing it 'For the Love of the Breed'. I eventually want to share my tactics for having healthy and happy birds! I will go into cleaning, handling, feeding, toys, perches, breeds and mutations and much, much more. Enjoy!

This Site is my way of sharing the gift of God's creation, animals! You probably realize how much joy and love they bring to the people they belong to. The joy I know I receive from my animals is overwhelming and I would like to share my joy with you!! As a animal lover and bird breeder I have studied these little lives and have developed a fairly good knowledge of them. I love to make my animals happy by giving them everything humanly possible, and in return, they give me endless hours of amusement and relaxation. Whether it just be feeding them or building new toys or simply just listening to their song. There are times when I think I am more dependant on them then they are on me! LOL It may sound funny, but I couldn't imagine living without them.
K & K Animal House was founded in August 1999 by Ken and Kylene Baird. I was 19 and my sister 15, we started by breeding Teddy Bear Hamster, Gerbils and Mice. Then we introduced Rabbits and Guinea Pigs into the business and increased our breeding success. At almost one year in existence we introduced Chickens and Chinchillas! (A wierd combination I know but HEY! IT WORKED!!. As we grew and progressed in knowledge and skill our name became known as breeders, so we decided to make an attempt at bird breeding. Bird breeding stole our hearts from the start, and although it was difficult at first we worked hard at it. It ended up that for almost a half year we had not one baby......THEN.....all of a sudden.....we had more eggs in our house than most supermarkets. We became so big that K & K Animal House had to downsize (so to speak) and now specializes in nothing but birds. As much as I am proud of my accomplishments with this business so far, I am still miles away from where I want to be. It's all part of my Journey!!!
